hardware problem (won't detect dvd-rom)

    so under hardware is my toshiba dvd-rom. the Device Status says: Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device.

    this is a laptop. does this mean like a wire or something is loose so it doesnt detect it? thats what im thinking, but u guys are smarter...so learn me :hs:..or something.

    its an hp with xp, and a laptop... by the way in case anyone was wondering

    hp pavilion zt 1000 series. is this what ur talking about or no? if not, tell me where i can find it on the laptop...it's not mine.


    Leb - it's my sisters computer. she brought it back home from college this week and said it wasnt working :squint: :)
