    they finnally added support for the internal fans of intel based macs. I loaded itand sure enough my fan showed it was running at 1500 RPM.


    granted its shareware but dam this program rocks

    I used the fanspeed app mentioned on that thread to set my minimum speed for both fans on my MBP to 3500 RPM and with minimal fan noise increase, my MBP now runs around 37c instead of 48c. If you have Sleepwatcher, it also hooks into that so that the fanspeed settings are restored when your Mac wakes from sleep.
