that allow me to reformat the harddrive that is in the machine, but upon reboot to install windows, the drive cannot be found. It's in the bios but nothing will boot to it. To get it to format I have to boot the machine, and then plug in the harddrive while the windows boot cd is running. It seems to reformat fine and then when I reboot it just gives me a blank screen with a blinking cursor. The drive is kinda old so could it just be fucked? I have some more drives laying around in other machines but I won't be able to get to them for the next day or so, so I figured I'd ask here to see if you guys had any ideas.

zero out the drive with the manufacturer's program and try again. usually thats the only thing that helps for me

also, check your boot devices in bios
