Western digital makes a 250GB SATA drive. 8mb cache and 7200rpm.

Yikes. Imagine the format time for a 300GB hd. I've been using 2 WD Raptors in RAID0 for a couple of months now with no problems. I've been also using a 100GB Western Digital hard drive for two years with no problems.

Go with the Maxtor 160 gig

Yea, but the Maxtor 300 gig only is only a 5400rpm drive and has a 2mb cache. The 120's and 160's are 7200rpm and have an 8mb cache... Just letting you know

Stick with the Maxtor 160 gig drive. 7200rpm and 8mb cache. You can find this drive at Staples for ~$100 after rebates. When I got mine, it was $70 after rebates.
