I'm looking into getting a 150+ GB harddrive. My mobo doesn't have sata connectors. Are the PCI sata cards any good? If so, what one should I get?

Or should I just got with a regular IDE hard drive?

    Also, any recommendations on harddrives?

    SATA: 150mbps
    EIDE: 133mbps

In real life it's not really noticeable. If you really care for the smaller cables, go for it (or just get rounded IDE cables). As for a good PCI SATA card, I'm not sure.

I'de go for the Sata mainly for future use.

Chances are the next MoBo you buy will be a Sata MoBo.

as far as a pci sata card any name brand one will suffice.
