    It's a little heavy on the treble. There's gotta be a way to get the platters to carry more of the workload.

    Yeh.. there's nothing there to make bass. Its a little 2oz arm with a tiny voice coil on it. I've seen another video where the dude taped a cut up aluminum can to it to make a kind of acoustic chamber. Its sorta like an acoustic guitar without the guitar sounds twangy as hell. If you put a tuned body behind it the thing sounds great.
