Is handbrake better than visualhub for ripping DVDs for iPod use?

I know if I use VH I have to rip the DVD first, but I know handbrake goes from DVD to file.

I have had zero luck with ffmpegx, every fucking time it squishes the frame so that everyone is super thin.

Handbrake is great, it comes with presets... in fact if it only had a DVD recompression option it would be a fucking amazing app given that it's already free.

Doesn't VisualHub download and install it too? What it did when you first launched it.

3+ hours to rip and encode? Fuck that.

I do like the idea of putting chapter markers in MP4s. I wish VisualHub did that.

yeah visualhub uses ffmpeg tools, funny that you have to pay for it but it does add a lot of value. You can even cluster-compute your encodes using Xgrid if you have spare computers in your house
