GUN hand gun laws in canada

    can anyone fill me in? I know theyre different than owning a rifle... different permits? totally illegal? whats the deal?

    First you need your Possession Acquisition licence. Then you need to take a restricted weapon training cource. Then you can buy a hand gun (with restrictions on barrel length) You can only use the gun for target shooting. In BC If you are a forestry technician you can get a special permit to carry a hand gun, it has to be larger than a .357 and a revolver and has to be carried so it is visible at all times. Oh and only out in the woods. (this is from experience from some time ago so things may have changed)

    since your a nuck, you know any good sites that would outline the rules and guidlines of buying and keeping a gun in ones home in British Columbia?

    All rules are federal, therefore nation wide. Rules are the same in BC as they are in Ont. Only difference is that its easier to get some of the paperwork in different provinces.
