GUN Hand Gun for Wild Boar?

    what caliber would be good for wild boar hunting and possibly some deer hunting also? something fairly cheap.

    Taurus Raging Bull in .454 or see if you can pick up a used Thomson Center Contender for cheap(my dad bought one used with a scope in 7mm for a little over $300 a while back).

    I like a Thompson Contender. I have one with a 30-30 barrel and the recoil isn't that bad, more of a push, than a hard core kick.

    But do practice a lot in a lot of field posistions and don't take long shots.

    American rifleman had a good article about the new Thompson/Center G2.

    It all depends if you want to be shooting a high caliber piston magnum, or switch to something like the Thompson firing a rifle caliber cartridge out of a pistol package.

    Is single shot what you are looking for? Or would you rather have something that repeats?
