for those with built hamstring muscles, id like to know what exercises/lifts you guys/gals do to build them? i always have been doing straight leg deadlifts to target the hammies, but need to change up. ive been doing squats and other leg exercises, but its difficult for me to build hamstrings

I've seen people with weight strapped to the ankles to do leg raises, I'm sure you could get ankle weights or a device to attach to the ankles to do leg curls from a dip bar or something. Or use a machine if you wish.

that sounds a little silly and there are much better alternatives, just like with bodyweight training....:p

:dunno: some people don't like machines, even for things like ham isolation where I'm sure the difference between free weight and machine is miniscule.

The exercise you suggested may be more suited to rehabilitation, not building strength/muscle.

:dunno: I was thinking strapping a few 45 plates onto it, but yes it is pretty impractical. Just making a suggestion, you cock jockey.

my hamstrings are by far one of my weakest body part, which i'm trying to bring up to speed asap, particularly because i'm a sprinter but also because my thighs have a muscle imbalance betwen the quads and the hamstrings and it's been giving me a bit of pain lately in my knees. (least that's what i'm attributing it to, it's just while walking around).
