Next week. It will the first time I've intentionally shot at night. Doing it at highrise with decent city view. Female model. Want to keep lighting relatively low. Any advice on lighting/set-up? :dunno:

    Use two strobes and modifiers
    Set them on low power

Then rent some and have fun. If you try a night shoot without additional lights you're going to be disappointed in the results.

prob gona have to use scoops and hotlights, strobe rental is ridiculous. I'll try experimenting with it tonight

sounds like you aren't ready for the shoot then :dunno:

nothing we tell you can replace experimenting with the stuff yourself.

If you're shooting an inanimate object at night, then a long exposure using the ambient light might work. but shooting a person... you're gonna need some strobes or a hotlight mang. that's just the way of things.
