I started playing a game when my computer suddenly froze. Now when I reboot the screen has blue dots everywhere and quickly freezes in windows. I'm thinking my video card is toast. Unfortunetly I dont have an onboard card to test if this is the case. Any opinions?

    May I hijack this thread?

I'm running Windows7, and once a week it'll freeze. The mouse still responds, but the harddrive light is stuck on. However, no sounds are coming from the drive. My machine also takes 5+ min to resume from stand-by, making it much faster to shutdown and reboot later as opposed to using stand-by.

Any suggestions? I've tried tweaking my memory voltage, which is much lower than recommended, but raising it to recommended made the machine crash much more frequently. EventManager reports nothing.

    Thanks!

    Not there yet.

Here is what I have done in the past.

Go to Wal-Mart. Find the cheapest video card that will fit in your machine. Seriously, get the $30 one.

Take it home, utilize it for your test.

Return the bitch when you are done with it.

    Wal-Mart takes anything back.

For added gigles when they ask what is wrong with it tell them you couldn't figure out how to get it into your laptop.
