Developed exclusively for Xbox 360 by acclaimed developer Bungie,
ôHalo 3: ODSTö is a new game in the ôHaloö saga that lets people experience
events leading up to the epic story told in ôHalo 3ö through the eyes of an
ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), as they search for clues leading to the
whereabouts of their scattered squad and the motivations behind the CovenantÆs
invasion of New Mombasa. The release adds a new dimension to an all-encompassing
universe that gamers around the world have known and loved for close to eight
years. ôHalo 3: ODSTö also introduces Firefight, a new cooperative multiplayer*
mode where up to four players can assume the role of an ODST squad and fight
together to take on increasingly challenging waves of enemies. Also included
are three new ôHalo 3ö multiplayer maps on a 2nd standalone disc, which includes
all original ôHalo 3ö maps, as well as the ôLegendary,ö ôHeroic,ö and ôMythicö
Map packs for a total of 24 maps. * Xbox LIVE Gold account required for online
        multiplayer gameplay

cause relatively speaking no one is going to play that game compared to these.

I've never even heard of it.

I wonder how many legitimate sales they are losing. Like if modding wasn't possible on the 360, how many copies extra would they sell? 10k?

They don't "pick" games to monitor. This thread is highly misinformed

This is why in the long run sony just might have a chance.

Software sales is where allllllllllllllllll the profits come from. It prolly takes about 2 bucks total for the disc pressing, case, manual, etc. And that sells for 65 bucks.

Once youve made the initial investment back ( relatively soon with a large user base ) you stand to make tons of cash.

If sony could get the ps3 install base up high, its supporters would buy tons of games and since as of this post there is no way to pirate for that system, they would stand to make much more cash.

In 3 years I've never heard of anyone getting banned for playing a legit release because "the game was being watched"

Halo 3 had not only a review copy out but also a beta revision leaked
GoW 1 and 2 I believe also had review copies leaked
SR2 also had review copies leaked
    Not to mention countless more

These are the things people get banned for playing. As of right now I think the general consensus is that from what the Xbox 360 sends out to the net, a legit rip of retail looks exactly the same as retail, that is what this firmware is designed to do. As always, no one can be sure though, but I highly doubt anyone is going to be banned because "it's being watched"... People get flagged from review copies and beta releases and that results in wave bans, I've never heard of someone getting picked off.

Yeah, they kinda do. Over on Major nelson's site and his twitter, he's warning users trying to play this game early, saying they will ban.

Yes they have a blanket statement saying they will ban any pirate, but they definitely "pick" their battles when it comes to this.

No one knows for sure how they verify, or if the same method is used or if they change it.

People get banned all the time, and people dont. It's all on what and when you play. If you want to get caught, you will.

But im sure they definitely bump up awareness and banning around the time of major releases.

Besides, in a way i think they want the piracy. I mean hell, the more games you have, the more youll pay for consoles when yours breaks, and most pirates buy DLC, avatar shit, themes, and subscribe to xbox live gold.

Thats all shit you cant pirate. And its all money in ms's pocket.

    Im out. Time to play.
