:eek3: The ref didn't arrive for a while, he could have got like 5-6 hammer fist in, good thing he stopped.

Good striking match, and some very impressive professionality on the part of the winner, who didn't continue punching until the ref stopped him like we see a lot of top fighters do in their KO's.

i don't know how i feel about that...

it's the refs job to stop the fight
but of course the fighter shouldnt be trying to maim his opponent

i think it's okay for em to hammerfist a lil before the ref jumps in to make sure...

let's not forget about ken's ability to guard with his face and then jump back up before the bell:ugh2:

Yeah, however the fact of the matter isn't whether or not someone is knocked out, it's whether they block/defend/counter or just let themselves get hit a certain number of times.

it's the job of an MMA fighter to fight until the ref tells him to stop. period. lots of dudes have gotten fucked cuz they thought their opponent was KO'd and stopped, then got the beatdown cuz homeboy wasn't out

Yeah but when someone's obviously out cold like that you can tell ya know?

A great example of this is the Razor Rob vs. Olaf Alfonso fight. Rob clealy knocked out Olaf COLD. Yet he still hit him 2,3,4 times afterwards because the ref didn't see it or was just too slow to stop him.

That image always stands out in my mind and I always thought of Rob as a prick because of it.

But this is just my opinion.

If the guy was still moving around and just not intelligently defending then yeah, keep attacking ya know?

Also fights that come to mind are CroCop vs. Randleman where randy pulled out the hammer fist a good 3-5 times before ref stopped it, but mirko was obviously out cold.

Also Arona vs. Rampage where Quentin slammed Ricardo and proceeded to beat him repeatedly... Although this match should be excused because rampage knocked heads with Arona hard enough to bust his nose so he probably wasn't thinking in terms of not-killing Arona, just more self-preservation.
