A couple weeks ago I tried to get some bloodwork done. I told the stupid cunt what I wanted to get checked and she asked why. My first response was because I have a right to know and I would like my bloodwork done. Bitch responds with "but I need a reason - you're not sick." Okay...my second response was that I was depressed, lethargic and unmotivated. She said it sounds like depression and maybe she should refer me to a psychiatrist.

For whatever reason I got unreasonably angry and yelled, "OKAY FINE I CAN'T GET ERECTIONS ARE YOU HAPPY? Just give me the stupid test!" I was worried she was just gonna offer viagra, but I think I scared her into giving me what I wanted. Got a complete metabolic panel, lipid profile and testosterone test. I went to get the results today and I could tell she didn't want to talk to me. I felt kind of bad. :mamoru:

I'm confused about the results of the T test though. Having just turned 25 I'd imagine that my test should be on the higher end and not at the lower end of the lab reference. Or am I just another douche being paranoid about his T levels? :o

    Code:
      [U]Test[/U] [U]Result[/U] [U]Reference[/U]
      Testosterone 486 262 – 1593 NG/DL
      Free Test 2.00 0.95 – 4.30 ng/dL (20-49 yr male)
      TSH3 0.772 .350-5.500 uIU/ML
      Cholesterol 153 <200 MG/DL
      Triglycerides 68 40 - 200 MG/DL
      HDL Cholest 53 35-70 MG/DL
      LDL Chol 86 85 < 100 MG/DL
      VLDL Chol 14 54 – 40 MG/DL
      Chol/HDL Ratio 2.9 0 – 4

your blood work is excellent. Unable to get boners is probably mental. what is your diet - training plan like?

Oh I have no problem getting boners. I was just spitting out symptoms of low test because I wanted to know my levels out of curiosity.

I wonder if these ranges are based on actual numbers, or some sort of psychotic estimation? I want to meet this supposed 50% of the natural population with test levels over 800.

I swear to you that's what the lab results say. So I take it 1500+ NG/DL is unreasonably high?

That's where my concern came from, I was stacking myself up against the high range, which I'm clearly nowhere near. :mamoru:

Why the fuck didn't you say "I want my testosterone levels checked"?

Oh and test levels start to drop around age 25 :noes:

if you're worried about your boners maybe you should stop plowing fatties...your numbers look fine and for insurance purposes you should only do bloodwork if you are in fact sick.'

you just cost your dr/ins comp/testing place etc etc a bunch of money because you're "curious."

edit: elfing was correct...you can get bloodwork done with your physical also, but you shouldn't have to talk your doctor into it. My doctor doesn't do bloodwork every year for people in their teens-thirties unless they have other issues.

There's nothing wrong with knowing your baseline, and insurance covers (or should) one physical with a full blood panel per year. Not that i'm justifying frivolous bloodwork, but I think you know what I'm getting at.

she probably wasn't "scared into giving a test" but rather saw how emotional and faggoty you got and figured you had more estrogen in your system than an ovulating 16 year old girl, logically concluding that you have some kind of hormonal imbalance.

I know...so I'm a little confused why he even had to push her. Once a year blood work is *more* than enough for a healthy adult.

I pay out of my ass for health insurance "just in case" and I rarely use it. Maybe if this was Canada and I was abusing universal healthcare I could agree with you, but as it stands I feel more than justified in utilizing what I pay for.

    Looks good to me...

My doctor today wanted to have my bloodwork done since I've been taking ibuprofen awhile and she wanted to check my liver (pfft). I asked if she could run a complete hormone profile along with my thyroid and she said no and that I would have to schedule another appointment for it...stupid cunt.

If any of you are playing with supplements, especially hormone based things, you want to get regular blood work. My doctor gets nervous every time I ask for blood work because he assumes that I just got done eating anadrol like skittles, lol.

Just be fucking honest, say you're into lifting weights and you have a curiosity surrounding your testosterone levels and would like a baseline at a young age to compare with at a later age.

Going in there spurting out symptoms you've read off the fucking internet is the quickest way to raise some red flags.
