So I finally got to wrestle at BHHS with frank trigg. All the kids there were like wtf, how old are you?! But I fit in pretty quickly :p

I actually did really well, I took every guy down that I practiced with, and pinned most of them. But they are all beginners. It's good though that I'm not being overwhelmed with really advanced guys.

What I wasn't ready for was the cardio, which was insane. I don't know how I'm going to train both wrestling and jiu jitsu, but I'm going to do my best to find a way.

I hope we get to have an OT nationwide throwdown. I know it's a pipe dream but it would be so cool to get together in person and trade notes with all you fuckers.

one asian guy was so annoying. he just stood there all gassed out, I was gassed out too.

I was like "go ahead, shoot!"

    - you'll just sprawl

"no i wont sprawl too hard"

    - thats stupid!! I just want to practice defense!!

    "fine, lazy! "

You'll have amazing cardio from doing both. Was everyone really excited that Trigg is the coach?

I was thinking more of an informal event, not like a fuckin cage match or anything lol

gimme like 2 more years and I'll be ready to have actual MMA fights. right now I'm still in the learning stage

When I wrestle I use sweeps, shit anythign to get yourself off your back!
(as long as its not greco (no legs))

if i get double legged you better belive i hit the butterfly guard and go for the sweep or the stand up.

using sweeps is not shady or illegal just watch your shoulders.

Yea, its so strange switching from wrestling to bjj and vice versa, but both compliment each other in little ways.

some butterfly sweeps involve you touching your shoulders to the mat right? I think this is viewed as giving up unnecessary points? I dunno, if you can make it work in your matches, it would be pretty cool.

i mean usually when you use butterfly sweeps you have to at least momentarily touch one of your shoulders to the mat. i dont know wrestling rules at all. honestly im not going to compete in wrestling. i just want to learn how to put a guy down with better technique.

if you're shoulders are exposed to the mat and he has somewhat control of you.. he's gonna get a point..

If you are going to go into their hs and train with them you should be a bit less concerned with what you are getting out of it. That team is doing you a favor. Don't use moves that would be illegal in wrestling. Don't use moves that would cost you a point in wrestling. I know you are trying to make yourself better which is good, but you are in their world and should go by their rules.
