Since I work for a hospital and we have registered dietitians I had a chance to start tracking my body composition to help me see exactly where I am. This is done with one of those fancy high end Tanita scales. I did my first weigh in on 5/28/09 and here were the results: 5/29/09 Age: 33 Height: 5'10" Weight: 234.5lbs BMI: 33.6 BMR: 2200 kcal Fat% 34.0 Fat Mass: 79.5lbs Target BF%- 15% Predicted weight: 182.0lbs Fat to lose: 52.5lbs Now, seems pretty grim considering. I started a more regimented routine and cleaned up the diet a ton and got another reading yesterday. 7/16/09 Age: 33 Height: 5'10" Weight: 230.0lbs (-4.5lbs) BMI: 33 (-.6) BMR: 2172 kcal Fat% 30.4 (-3.6%) Fat Mass: 70lbs (-9.5lbs) Target BF%- 15% Predicted weight: 188.5lbs Fat to lose:41.5lbs Not bad for the time I have been getting more serious and considering I was out for 2 weeks due to illness. What I thought was interesting was that my BMR dropped...not much but I guess it's normal when you drop weight. I'll continue re-checking every 30 days. ibfatty.
