I have today off from work (they let us have a long weekend) and around lunchtime the mail carrier came by and got a check I had been expecting, so I drove to the bank to deposit it. The bank is about 2.5 miles from my house on a 4 lane road going west-east with a center turning lane, and the traffic is always busy in the street, you normally when leaving the bank and needing to go to the left you have to get into the center lane and floor it and merge if you are needing to go westbound like I was. So I get in the center turn lane and the asshat in the left lane instead of getting over just stays there so I have to floor it to get around him. So then I'm in the right lane because my street is coming up and the whole time the guy is in the left lane doing what I do (if I speed up/slow down, so does he, etc). It's making me a little nervous but I don't have road rage and I'm not looking at him either. I turn right onto my street and in the rear view mirror I see him make the right hand turn with me from the left lane. He follows me around a mile down my road before turning around, but if he had followed me to my house he would of been in for a nasty surprise. my state has castle doctrine also.

If someone is following you why would you even go to your house? Just drive around in circles or go to a major parking lot.

just make 4 left or right turns. if he still follows, then you've got something to be worried about.

So he followed you home except he didn't?

I don't think castle doctrine covers people who haven't forcefully entered your vehicle or car.

If when you made the turn with you and you where thinking he was following why did you got straight home? At least take the long way home, go around a block or two.

If you know the confrontation is coming it is stupid to have it at home, go to the nearest public parking lot or if there is a police substation nearby that parking lot. The gun should be an option of last resort (even if you are in the green legally) going home greatly reduces the number of peaceful outcomes.
