I'm in Germany doing a study abroad term for my school (and loving it so far! :big grin:)

Hk's plant here in Germany is about an hour and half away from me by train (which is good because I have an unlimited train pass). I'm obviously a firearm enthusiast and I'm studying Mechanical Engineering so I'm into engineering also (obviously) so I would love to see their facilites.

Does anyone know if Hk offers any kind of factory tour in Germany? I know they don't in America due to government contracts and such. I just sent them an email and I hope they respond to it...

I'm enrolled in a German language course here at the school, but I'm not going to be good enough to carry on a conversation probably...:hs:

Where in Germany is it and let us know what you find out. I'm going to be here a few years and would love to go on a tour if they offer one. I wonder what the gift shop would be like......

I believe it is/was in Oberndorf. My wife's German relatives are from that area, and IIRC one of them actually worked at the factory back in the 80's.

I don't have a map of Germany in front of me, but her relatives are from the Black Forest area, the town of Boll I think. My memory is crap these days.

It's in Oberndorf (Neckar) south-southwest of Stuttgart. It's about 1.5 hours by train so it's not too far.

I haven't heard back from them, and I'm thinking they're just going to ignore it now.

I'm in Esslingen (Neckar), just outside of Stuttgart. I go to Hochschule Esslingen, and will be here until early July.

That's what I was thinking as I wrote the email... :big grin:

The site was in English so I figured someone there spoke English and would at least send a form response but I still haven't recieved anything.
