So I'm about to be moving from the suburbs of Sac to downtown and my current gym is about to be about an hour away from my new place.

My current gym is only $30/mo (if you prepay for a year), dumbbells up to 150, provides chalk/good weight belts/straps/wrist wraps/knee wraps/etc, doesn't care what you do, no gay policies, etc.

I want to find a good gym that is close to downtown that has good equipment (dumbbells up to 150, plenty of racks, etc), good hours, reasonable price, doesn't care about chalk/deadlifts, etc.

    Any ideas? NUDES?

I went 24hr because they had a good 3month deal for the summer.

There are a few in the area.

:dunno: It was packed but got the job done.

Yeah I remember that gym but can just anyone join? Do they have decent hours? Is it expensive?

    Pretty much :coold:

I was thinking of 24hr because I'm finally about to have a roommate who works out and he goes there. I'm just worried about gay policies like no chalk or deadlifts :o

Anybody can join ST from what I gather but you must be somewhat serious and dedicated to train there.

I'm not sure the current prices but IIRC it's like $120+/month, maybe more. Private PL gyms aren't usually cheap.

Powerhouse in Rancho Cordova has everything and is cheap.

Yeah, don't want to pay $120/mo.

I've been paying $50/mo at my current gym (month-to-month rate) and that's about as high as I want to go, especially when you can get a gym with everything for about that price, no reason to pay extra if you don't have to :o. Don't really have an interest/need for a private PL gym anyway :o

But I'll for sure check out Powerhouse, depending on what part of Rancho that could be fairly close to me if it's right off highway 50 :coold:

I bring in chalk and deadlift at my 24hr. I think it just depends on who's managing/working at the club you join.

Yeah I wouldn't mind bringing belt and chalk but chalk/deadlifts not being allowed is pretty :ugh:/:greddy:

Deads are always allowed at 24 hour fitness in my experience.... Chalk might not be "allowed" but I've used it at 3-4 different branches and trainers/employees never said shit to me about it. The only problem I have with 24 hour is they're always packed. I just make sure to go when it's not rush hour and I never get held up.
