Yesterday was my first day in the gym since new years and I have never seen so many skinny kids wearing jeans, boots, and wifebeaters (or other combinations of shit "gym" clothes) doing nothing but bench and curl.

In for shirt ideas such as "Move over, I was here in December" :o

I've never heard a forum bitch and moan about people coming to the gym. They are making an effort to try to improve themselves, so stop the bitching, seriously.

somehow, i didnt notice a real increase in people this year. Though I did see this new guy yesterday squatting in the smith machine, with the absolute worst form ever. His feet so far in front of him that they werent even contained in the smith machine anymore

fuck. im glad my gym enforces a dress code.

    while working out:
    no jeans.
    no boots/sandles.
    no button up shirts.

i love how guys come dressed up all gangsta, only to have a trainer kick his ass out. it also says that in our contacts. :wiggle: yeah, my gym can be pricks, but follow the rules, and it's great.

No they're not. Most of the people we're talking about will be in there for a couple of weeks, MAYBE a month before decided that working out is too hard and quitting because they don't look like Brad Pitt after two weeks. Consequently they get in the way of the serious lifters and waste peoples time.

The people that enjoy lifting and stick around and change their bodies for the better are fine. But it doesnt seem to be a problem in my gym and doesn't bother me for the most part.

I go back to the university gym monday, so this outta be good. Before break I would regularly see about 3-4 kids wearing $80 jeans and hollister shirts hogging the bench at any given time.

Its almost worth going to the gym I work at, even though its so crappy.

Everyone I knew said id be bored with it in 2 weeks. :squint:

10 months later, those same people are asking me for help getting into shape.

my point exactly. There's nothing wrong with people trying it for a month, in that month they'll decide if it's for them or not. So let the process weed them out and let the strong stand

i just started going to gym. its embarassing cause everywhere you look you think people are laughing at you and always wondering if your form is right.
i paid a lot of money for the gym so thats my motivation to go everyday and i have so far. my legs are on fire, i look like penguin when i walk up the stairs.

the way i see it though i feel fucking fantastic. even though its very painful.

I'm all for people who want to last in the gym and in life. It just sucks when they crowd up the gym for those that go regularly. Though I always have a back up gym (military gym) if the public one is full. I just like drivin' only 2 miles to the public gym instead of drivin' 6 miles back to work to work out.

The way my gym career started was 3 years ago I got a membership. I went for like a month then stopped. About every 4 months Id get some motivation to go for a few weeks then it died out. Finally in september of this year I wanted to get in shape for the college woman... ;) Been working out/running 5 days a week since september and lost over 50 pounds so far and gained a lot of muscle. I feel great, and am still going to the gym. But yea it is funny, I dread new years because the gym is usually packed but this year it wasnt really any different.
