OK here is the dilema...I have the opportunity to purchase a 04 GX 470 with 22k on it for $38,000 and it is absolutly beautiful! Or, I was looking at a new 06 Honda Pilot with nav. and basically fully loaded for like $35,000. I know the Lexus is a great SUV but so is the honda. As far as looks the lexus wins hands down. But for reliability, horsepower, and gas milage I think the honda wins. I just cant decide. What would you go for?

They are two completely different SUV's with different purposes... I was driven a new GX470 and its very nice.
Do you want luxury or a nicely equipped people mover.

you can't go wrong with either one it just comes down to (at least for me if i was in your shoes)

the shape the used lexus is in...and if you knew the person who owned it and if it was cared for.

as far as reliability goes both honda/toyota are equal when it comes to reliability and build quality...

^ normally I'd agree but 04 isn't that old.... plus its a Lexus (Toyota) so it will probably run forever. IMO I'd go lexus the feel and quality is so nice. My dad drives a 01 LX470.

ensure you get an extended warranty if you go honda, that auto tranny in all of their v6's like to slip after a few dozen miles. They'll probably extend the tranny warranty anyway.

Not even in the same class, bro.

    The Lexus wins HANDS-DOWN.
