How are your feet doing? I'm barefoot probably 90% of the time, and my feet are starting to incur some wear, like my callouses are getting so thick that they are starting to flake and peel back (if you know this sensation it's horrible) and I've got calouses on the top of my toes from dragging my tops of my feet as I shoot, the one on my big toe got so thick it cracked along the place where the toe is meant to bend. :noes:

anyway I'm starting to try to grind that shit off in the shower like a grandma does, hopefully I can get this shit under control.

you guys have any foot-related issues that stem from training alot / full time?

I get them on my heels (they crack occasionally) and inside of the ball of my foot no idea how to get rid of them sorry.

I've got calluses on the tops of my toes/feet from sitting on them in guard, but never had them crack. :eek3:

My feet are a mess and have been forever. They're bad enough that my wife won't give me foot massages.

    Mine really aren't that bad.

I've got some on the top of my feet from being in guard and the side of my toes from shooting...but they really aren't bad at all :dunno:

When you trained in TKD, did you train on mats or on hardwood floors?

Both schools I trained at were wood floors, and it destroyed my feet, especially the balls of my feet from pivoting into kicks.

Concrete. And yes, my feet were NASTY back in the day from it. The balls of my feet were destroyed from it.

We'd have 3-4 weeks without training during semester breaks, and sure enough the first week back I'd rip a callous off my foot.

get a pumas stone and scrub them in the hot shower. It will clean and exfoliate. And hopefully help with the cracking.

if they crack, try looking at running stores (probably only online, like zombierunner.com) for this stuff called tincture... .....cant remember the full name, but that is half of it. It's like a crazy glue to hold your feet together and create a seal. Runners use it for blisters on their feet. Rodeo riders use it for their hands. I use it for the ball of my feet to keep everything in tact.

My feet were cracking so bad at one point that they were bleeding. :wtc:

I started using a pumas stone, and it didn't help that much.

by that point it is too late. like i said earlier, use that tincture stuff to keep it closed and sealed, then use pumas to avoid the cracking.

My feet have callouses (sp?) on the bottom and some mat burn all over. But the worst thing in my opinion are my knees. Both feel kind of numb to the touch and occasionally also throb with pain after practice.
