One of the drain holes in the body had a factory defect in them, the carpet was runined in the car. Curently waiting on carpet (hopefully not from Australia :hs: )
Since you dont see a brand new car gutted very often I took some pics :)

What's that on the sheetmetal in the pass. side floor shot? Hopefully that's not any kind of corrosion.

Yep, it was built in Elizabeth, Aus. :)

Aside from the occassional defective drain plug, they're great. Next year the new Zeta cars are available down there, cant wait.

The water pooling seems to be a common problem, sounds like a design defect. I guess Australia doesn't experience torrential rains. :o

Yeah, if you're lucky you'll only get leaks when you park on an incline. :hs:
Magnums dont have water leaks, do they? :o

Nope. There are lemons on every tree, but the Chryslers don't have any widespread problems like the GTOs are having. Some of them have rough displacement switching and some programming snafus on the trannies, that's about it.

A guy in one of my car clubs is fighting to have GM buy his GTO back due to water leaks that they haven't been able to fix.

The bolstering looks really good on those seats. Are they a GM item, or did GM buy them from someone else?

I have never heard anyone here complain about leaks, and we get some bloody substantial rain up this part of the country some times. We get the usual tropic storms.

I know one other guy who's being approved for a buy back, several others have mild leaks. I did hear Pontaic messed with the seals when they brough the car over, wouldnt suprise me if this is all because of the American engineers.

They probably thought the seals were too tight and didn't let in enough road noise and engine noise.

I heard they did change the seals for the colder climate, might have something to do with it.

Hey, what's that yellow pull-tab do on the upper right corner of the picture?

I'd wanna convert the rear seat area to a fold down/trunk pass through of some sort. I wonder how possible that would be...
