:) these are pretty close lol. 16" guns on the USS Missouri.....could fire a 2700 pound projectile over 24 miles. Actually the Japanese battleship Yamato had 18.1" guns and could fire a 3200 lb projectile about 26 miles.... it was more powerful than the 16" guns we had but not as accurate.

The B-1 is a very cool aircraft.......but I wouldn't exactly call it a gun lol. The B-52 carries more ordanance anyway :naughty: They can both nuke the shit outta some places if need be though :bigthumb:

Well, I admit it's not as powerful as the 16s on the Missouri, but it's still pretty damned powerful.
The 30mm Avenger. It's the nose cannon on the A-10 Thunderbolt II:

It fires 3900 525g depleted uranium projectiles per minute at 988 m/s. It will penetrate almost 70mm of armor.
Actual loadout is 4 depleted uranium rounds to one high explosive round.

Another one to check out is the MetalStorm.

It's a multi-barrel gun with variable firing rates, up to 1,000,000 rounds per minute.

That is false. Everyone always thinks the B-52 carries more.

Plus the B1 delivers it faster and can outrun fighter jets.

And that link info is actually out of date on the B1. They have upgraded it some-more.

In that case, how about the Barrett Light .50?

Most powerful rifle is .577 trannosaur, up to 11,000 ft-lbs of energy. Though, it is horribly inaccurate, and the recoil probably does even more damage than the bullet. The most powerful handgun I know of is the Pfeifer Zelsika, in .600 Nitro express, but as with the .577, I'd rather not have my hand broken from the recoil.

    Solly, Cholly.

The biggest numbers I was able to find for the .577 Tyrannosaur:
750 grain bullet at 2608 fps, which is 11,330 ft-lbs.

The numbers for Barrett's .50 cal M33 ammo:
661 grain bullet at 2910 fps, which is 12,417 ft-lbs.

The German railroad mounted Krupp's Gustav and Dora guns were the biggest ever fired that i can recall offhand.

One of them was used in Russia, where stories tell of a 9 ton armor penetrator blowing up a ammo dump that was 90ft under solid rock.

31.5" bore, shells were from 4 to 10 tons.
