I didnt want to post this in my other question because i wanted more "exposer". One guy said that in his state that it was legal for someone under 21 (byut over 18) to buy a handgun from a Private Party but not from a Dealer. Does anyone know if this is true in utah also or just in certain states and where can i look.

WA is the same... anyone 18-20 can buy a handgun from a private party, but federal law prevents sales of handguns by FFL's to persons under 21.

in WA, you can buy it through a private sale, but you cannot carry it in public (you have to be 21+ to get a CPL), and you can only transport it unloaded, directly to and from a recognized gun range... nowhere else.

ATF sales restrictions listed here: http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/...ccess.gpo.gov/cfr_2003/aprqtr/27cfr478.99.htm

specifically restrict long arms and their ammo sales to 18+, handgun and their ammo sales to 21+ by federally licensed dealers, manufacturers, and collectors.

as for UTAH specific laws for minimum age, http://www.lcav.org/states/utah.asp#MinimumAgetoPurchasePossess

specifically states that anyone 18 or older may legally purchase and possess any legal firearm with no restrictions, of course within federal ATF regulations, especially age requirements, set forth by my first link.
