For those that don't know, MARTA actually means "Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta"....
**looks over shoulder**
I was hoping for a news story of an actual gun fight
Session isn't over yet...
From the latest GCO Update:
HB 257 was un-tabled, cleaned up and PASSED last night around 7:00pm.
This is a HUGE win for GA gun owners!
The base bill allows Constables to carry in publicly owned buildings and school zones. This does NOT affect us, the unwashed masses.
The important parts are the amendments:
The amendments to HB257, as passed by the Senate, allow GFL holders to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol and on public transportation.
The amended bill still has to be voted on by the House, but it expected to pass very easily.
GA’s list of off-limits places is “this close” to finally getting SHORTER!
to Georgia lawmakers
Good on them!
Common sense stuff actually passing....well done Georgia.
So do public universities fall under the "publicly owned or operated buildings" they are referring to?
That would be great...nice precedent to set
The "school zone" laws would have to be changed as well.
I figured that there must be a separate law about schools, but I'm not too well versed in GA law so I thought I would ask, oh well it was a nice thought.
This update was just posted by Rep. Tim Bearden (R-68) (aka “Stonewall”), the author of HB 89 & HB915:
passed house and senate - now to get Sonny to sign
Hope the Gov signs. Could use bills like this in TX, AZ, MN, and WI. (The states I frequent)
Could use a bill like this in CA....
