that's too bad for them. i have several deadly assault rifles that kill people on their own. i was going to turn them in, but if i can't get any Target cash for that then fuck it, i'll just continue letting them go out and kill people.

Some people did that at a gun buyback awhile ago. They got $200 walmart certificates so they were literally showing up with junk weapons that didn't even work then going right into the Walmart since it was in their parkinglot and walking out with brand new rifles and shotguns. It was a total media backfire.
I remember one picture in the paper of the table with the police handing one guy a certificate while in the background some guy is walking out of the store with a brand new shotgun raised high with a huge smile on his face. (probably why they are going with Target this time around)

Dear Brady dorks, Target and local anti gun folks. I would like to send you my deepest gratitude for your gun buyback program. Without you I wouldn't have been able to get rid of all my crap guns that I couldn't give away anywhere else. Also because of your great generosity, I was able to sell your gift certificates and finally realize my dream of owning a fully automatic GE minigun with the truckbed mount. See pics enclosed of me destroying a city bus at the range.

    Love, Snake

Mr. Mayor or whom it may concern,

I couldn't help but notice the publicity you are drawing for yourself with your gun buy back program. While I do realize you are an elected official and have to do something to make it seem like you are combating the crimes going on in your city. I was curious about one thing and maybe you can give me a logical explanation I can't seem to find on my own.

How do law abiding citizens turning in guns that are most likely family heirlooms reduce crime on the streets?

Perhaps you are not aware of several studies done over seas that explain time and time again that taking guns from law abiding citizens does nothing to reduce the crime rate. While yes you will see a drop in gun crime (which I assure you is completely logical as all the guns are gone) the over all crime rate skyrockets. I apologize if I seem patronizing or even hostile; it just upsets me to see a politician so shamelessly exploiting the fears of soccer moms and uneducated people in an attempt to get some face time in the paper or on T.V.

    Regards,

I've got an extremely old and shitty .22 revolver that I'd love to unload at a gun buyback program thing. Last time i looked on an auction site, there were two selling as a package for $25, and the reserve had been met

I need to get a box full of those just in case Denver ever has a gun buyback program . I can see it in the future the way things are going.

just stand outside the parking lot and have a sign saying " cash paid for guns" and intercept them.

That about covers it. The ironic thing is that if it weren't for Denver you'd almost never hear about shootings in Colorado :mamoru:.
