Wow this guy is an idiot

Our neighborhoods belong to the residents, not the drug dealers and criminals.

    * Gunshot-Detection Systems
o These systems can tell officers the exact location (up to 1 ½ miles away) of a shooting within seconds and report it to the police department via dispatch, pager, or cell phone
o Does not require 911 call by residents
o Used in Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Oakland and other cities
o Funded by grants and foundations

    * More Officers on the Streets
o Give desk jobs back to civilians, to free up experienced officers to do what they do best: protecting the citizens of Dallas.
o Moving as many officers as possible into patrol will increase police presence and reduce response time

    * Enforce loitering and panhandling ordinances in front of stores

    * Work to enhance community-police relationships
o Helping Police Officers live in the area they serve, creating a bond with the community while providing a visible crime deterrent
o Encourage our parents to play a more active role in raising their children, and provide enhanced support services where necessary

  7. Gunshot detection systems! :bowrofl: They should just pay people with good hearing to stand around and listen for gunshots. Give them walkie-talkies. When they hear a gunshot they can all chat with each other to figure the location of the shot based on the way they heard the shot from their own location. At least that way jobs would be created.

Look at all the good they've done in those cities he cites! (I didn't even know the cities had them)

I really don't see the point in these. NO ONE, whether law abiding citizen or criminal, will turn in a gun that they either want or feel they need.

You think Dallas PD would run us off if we set up a table about half way between the parking lot and their table? "$50 cash for your WMDs!" banner on the front

They would have to chase off the other guys. Operating a business without a license is a no no, but as long as you stay below the state's threshold $$$ you won't constitute a business. The other guys, if they work for Kroger and are representing them through agency, would have to be immediately throw off. I would tend to think their tax forms and such aren't worded correctly to be an arms dealer or FFL.

So if we get 10, and each give them 50 thats 500 a person. Times that times 10 thats a 100 guns :coold:

I'm not sure what the state's limit is, but the PD shouldn't legally scare you off for that. I'd be worried about trespassing if they host didn't want you there. If asked to leave by the agent owner of the property, I would do so immediately.

We can do it on the street corner with a big sign saying "Guns for Kroger Gift Cards? How about guns for money, stop here to get cash instead"

Too long. I'd just put, "We Buy GUNS! Any gun, $50 CASH!"

The only good idea on that thing is getting the officers out of desk jobs, and replacing them with civilians. There are virtually no desk jobs at my department staffed by officers, unless they are on light duty.
