James Jean doesn't do Fables covers anymore, but the book it 100% awesome, even without the covers. If you like his stuff pick up his new hardcover sketchbook at www.processrecess.com. It'll probably sell out in a few weeks and fetch $100+ prices on ebay.

And Sejic is awesome, I don't buy the books but I love his stuff.

I usually just skip out on the books, even if I absolutely love the artist. It's much better to buy a sketchbook, print, or piece of original artwork then pay money for a shitty comic.

I'll buy stuff I don't necessarily read or like, if the cover has t-n-a perv value.

I've occasionally bought comics just for the coolness of the cover, but it's pretty rare that I do if it's a new one. If it's in a 50 cent box, then I'm more likely to splurge a bit on pure cover purchases.

I picked up the prototype comic cause I really dig the artist. Comic itself was pretty shitty.
