Recruiter trying to get me to do it because the reserves are letting me switch my mos a little easier. However staying in the military in general is a problem for me because i have a fucked up knee (that nobody knows about yet). SO reserves, yay or nay

Guard is more combat arms focused. Reserves are more support focused. Guard will be more state-oriented, and will have a much more hometown-ish focus.

I moved from the reserves to the guard to keep my combat arms MOS. Since moving, I have received much more and better training than I ever saw with the reserves. But I think that will probably be different from state-to-state.

That's another good point. Many states give 100% tuition for any courses you take at a state college. The benefits vary from state-to-state, so check online for details.

Much like the benefits given vary from state to state, the training offered varies as well.

True. But that's harder to find out before you make the jump. I have never regretted moving from the Reserves in SC to the Guard in VT. VT Guard has some outstanding training programs.

Also, the benefits for the guard tend to be alot better.

reserves are federally controlled and guard is state controlled. The guard has combat arms MOS unlike the reserves.
