For $70k in little carbon fiber bits and features no one was asking for, the warranty should be intact if you drop a 526 HEMI in there.

It's pretty typically Japanese to leave the same engine in the "premium" version of a car, so I'm not surprised they did it here too. I'm not impressed with it on paper, but it might be that it hauls substantially more ass with the same power in real life, due to the lower weight. Just have to wait and see.
I'm pretty sure nobody was asking for any kind of premium version, be it with a bigger engine or better suspension or a lighter chassis. I don't think they much care if anyone was asking for it, either, based on the way they did what they wanted to do and gave you a nice big finger to sit and spin on.
They said it's 2 seconds faster on a 4 kilometer track. I consider the ass not substantially ($70k) hauled.
What are you talking about. All the fanboys were talking about how the Vpec was going to pwn the ZR1. I know a lot of people expecting a real ass kicker in the Vspec.

need to see hard data numbers to be sure, but on paper, its a failure... reminds me of the $150,000 Ford GT... way overpriced for what it is.
why is it that whenever a non supercar esq company makes a supercar, it isnt bargain bottom it is overpriced?
The ford GT was a supercar from the get-go, designed for the ground up as one. The GTR is an AWD sportscar coup that they made a little lighter and now its supposed to be a supercar at that price.
When Ford found a hairline crank in a front A arm of their track GT after thousands of track miles they sent out a tech to every GT owner's house, paid him to stay in a hotel and replace the customer's front A arms with solid billet ones. That's a super car. GTR's transmission takes a dump after 5 launches and Nissan cleans their hands of you.
Plus the Ford GT has supercar lines and is mid engine RWD.

it irritates me that the Ford GT gets such a bad wrap after clarksons issues.
will not be fail if that 150 is lowered to ~100.
