Did you own an F-body/have you driven an F-body before buying the GTO? What's the difference in the feel between the two?

I know the interior is about a million times more refined than an F-body, how is the ride in comparison?

I don;t own a GTO, but one of my best friends does... and you know I've had an F-body.

I've driven his GTO several times... It's heavier, much nicer and more comfortable inside, and that engine is godlike.
Doesn't quite have that same kind of visceral spirit that f-bodies do, but really a better car in every aspect.

does it have the same feel and power as the F-body, or is some of that lost w/ the weight?

The entire car is a million times more refined. The only thing they have in common is the thrust.

GTO is more refined, rides better, is built better (IMO), and the driving experience is more staisfying again IMO. That being said, I am not a GTO owner :o

I thought it was only 400,000 times more refined.

If you're thinking about getting rid of the T/A for one, I don't think you'd regret it. It's not really as "fun", but much easier to live with.

For all intents and purposes, my car is a trophy more than it is a toy. I agonize over taking it out :hs: I love it to death and will miss it dearly if I do sell it, but I want something that I won't feel guilty about putting some miles on :o

You definitely won't feel guilty about ragging the shit out of a GTO.

The suspension is a little soft for my liking, when I buy one, it will definatly get springs at bare minimum.

Another thing, the TQ managment will be removed from my car, that's what causes the car to feel more tame, power wise...

They're good cars. I'd have seriously considered buying one if my friend didn't already have one, becuase that would have just been gay.

Now I need to find a collector to sell my car to, otherwise I'm going to feel like shit selling it to someone who's going to dog it.

    Right on.

    Dear Tank,

I don't have a GTO, but I do have an 01 Z28. I have also driven and Raced some LS2 GTO's. The GTO is much more along the lines of a caddy on the inside, pretty nice. I didn't like how high I sat up or the long ass shifter(but then again, I run a hurst short shifter, short stick and t handle:bowdown: ) It did handle like a bigger car, it also felt like a bigger car when I went WOT anywhere in the powerband. In racing, my Lid, catback LSWON owned them all. Nice cars but more towards a caddy than a true sportscar like the fbody... great cars but not a sportscar replacement.

    Love Always,

    Tiger

I don't think one could replace the other if you want a different trophy. If you want something you can drive and not feel guilty about then it would be a smart move.
