Not a lot of stand up in this fight, but I liked this move he pulled off:

i dont know what is crazier, that he pulled that off, or that Serra was 1/2 a second away from ending the fight

Thats the first thing I noticed :eek3:

Had GSP not went for the kick, Serra could very well still be champ.

gsp knew that overhand right was coming. that or gsp being stupid and leaving one arm in the guard was serra's only hope to be champ.

you can clearly see that gsp's head movement was to purposefully avoid that overhand right.

^^ word. GSP was so sharp. he is great at controlling distance and countering. something a lot of fighters lack.

no, just really easy to see coming when someone brings their hand back to their hip to punch you.

Anyone 5'10" doesnt plan on ducking under one of Serra's midget punches, its just one of those things that happens.

If Serra had also just thrown that in an upper-cut fashion (more of an upward angle) he may also still have the belt.

It had some power on it.

Oh well, maybe he can land it on Hughes. :x:

seriously ..... was matt serra even bothered with losing?

"oh, ok ..... i'll GIVE it to the homecountry boy ....."

i think he honestly gave it up BEFORE entering the arena, his whole body language said it all ..... he was waiting for the GSP onslaught ..... and got it (by way of the FIRST two punches!)

enjoyed watching my first UFC event :bigthumb:

seriously. Like I said before, I was happier with Serra losing only because he is mentally that tough that he can take a monumental ass whooping, lose his title, and laugh about it and smile.

    You gotta admire that guy.

what, compared to making an ACTUAL fight about it :mamoru:

NOT a mark of a champion IMO, if you're a champ you're expected to put up a fight for it aren't you ..... what he did was tantamount to GAMESMANSHIP!!

hope GSP get's to fight him in new york, and wipe that stupid smirk off his face!!!!!!!!

Who the fuck are you to be critiquing someones performance when you just self admited that this was your first PPV? You know nothing about MMA. Serra did well off his back and even managed to get in guard. Any bjj black belts guard is going to be dangerous.

Can you stop GSP's take down? Even Koshcheck couldn't.

Take your ignorant ass back the to main forum.

I knew making the main forum pay only was going to flood us with idiots.

oh god, buy a sub already.
If you knew ANYTHING you would know serra did try his best, gsp is just that much better than him. And serra is a B level fighter in that weight division
