You guys have any excuses ready to go if Hughes pulls the upset? :noes:
A few possible ones for you guys... :x:

He took the fight on short notice.

    Fluke loss

Had an injury before the fight.

GSP wins 98 out of 100 times.

I can smile when its raining.
I don't think its an upset if GSP loses. In reality, GSP is coming off a good win vs Kos, but before that he lost to SERRA.

Hughes is coming off a workman's win against Lytle, but before that lost to GSP, but has also beat GSP. I think GSP will be the slight favorite, but it wouldnt be totally unheard of for him to win.

That being said, I'm taking GSP over hughes, Hughes looked better against Kos than Hughes looked against Lytle.

    GSP -250 / Hughes +230

According to the odds it would be considered an upset.

(There is great value on Hughes from a bet stance)

Do you have your excuses ready for when GSP puts Hughes through another 10-8 round?

Why would I need excuses? I would accept the loss and say GSP is definitively better (when paired together).

You, on the other hand, would make excuses.

+/-150 is IMO virtually even and anything above +200 is a reasonable upset.

But hey this is the year of the upset so anything can happen.

Like me losing $1100 on GSP when he fought against Serra. Or a friend of mine winning $4.25K when he only wagered $500 on Serra. :coolugh:

Part of a weird parlay setup that my local sportsbook does.

no, I think that's just how odds work. You can't bet on a favorite and expect to make tons of money. Unless I'm missing the point of what you're saying.

My sportsbook has it to wear if we guess all of our picks correctly he'll give that clientele a bonus.

Without making any excuses for GSP, wouldn't any loss be because he underperformed if even the biggest Hughes sack rider openly admits that GSP is a better fighter a month before the fight?

    :dunno:
