    I've got the BEFSR41 ver.3 w/ firmware 1.04.17

I keep getting kicked off the internet like every 5 minutes. I was thinking about downgrading the firmware but I'm not sure where to get the earlyer versions.

    any help or other ideas?

Did you try hooking your cable back up to the modem instead of the router to make sure it is the router?

yeah, i hooked the computer directly to the modem, worked fine.

I can get back online once i restart the router but it still kicks me off every 5 minutes.

You can try a different firmware but I don't know if that would help. Maybe call up Linksys and see what they say. Sounds like you might be purchasing a new router.

haha have you ever called linksys support center? It's a complete joke. They making cisco look horrible, that's all I have to say about that

Linksys's support has been very good to me. Not long on hold and good people on the other end.

That happened me to a lot with a Linksys router, but it went away for some reason. Try switching around settings...just doing things a different way.

I think that was an issue regarding cable modems (if you are using cable) and the linksys router... i glanced at a forum on broadbandreports about it... there has been a "simple" solution for it, but i cant remember.

perhaps you should go there and scan the forums.

i got it working. Turns out I still had my old static IP in my account so when the modem tried to pull it i'de get booted (probably because someone else has that IP).

try to reset the whole router by pushing the button with a toothpick and keep doing it until you get a new sign in
