Growing long hair, tips?

i have never had really long hair. Last summer I tried to let it keep going. I figured if I could make it thru the hot ass summer it would be cake. I did indeed make it thru summer. But as it got longer, it got more annoying. I could'nt deal with it, so i got my normal short cut (clippers, 1 on the side, 1 1/2 on top)

I trimmed the hair around my ear to make it bearable currently. My sideburns are getting long and need a trim, but I don't want to look foolish.

What could i request as a trim to keep my hair long, but get ride of the annoying hair on the sides?

i tried for a while, but i couldnt get past the stupid "not short/not long/cant do dick with" length. i would get a trim to try to leave the length and make it not look stupid but i would always lose too much length.

i think the only way is to buy a hat and wear it for a year straight

When you get out of the shower, dry it really well with the towel. This always kept it from bothering me.

If you've had short hair for a long time, your hair will stick up because it doesn't have any weight to it.

Gel / Moose / Other hair product should do the trick to keeping it down.

I once grew my hair out for 9 months in college and am thinking about it again. My sister didn't like it, but I did. My hair is curled at the ends and is wavy. On a Filipino dude, it just looked wierd. This was in college when I worked at the mall, so I would just wear beanies and hats to work, and if I went out, I just tamed it with hair wax. Now, i've been shaving my head for almost four years.

dude there is always a tickle-length. this is the burden you must bear to get the long hair. it's a right of passage.

    you will desensitize to it

I hate it when my hair curls into the inside of my ear and tickles the ear from the inside. It annoys the fuck out of me when I'm driving... that stuff can get you into accidents!

it all depends on what you look best. long hair doesnt look good on most people, same with short hair

according to that, youre better off with short

seems you got a receeding hairline too, i dont think long hair would help unless your aim is to cover them up.
