What do you guys do with ground turkey? I bought some today for the first time to add another protein source to my diet but I'm not really sure what to do with it. Ideas?

I usually brown it with some olive oil and then toss veggies in and season to flavor. Toss it over some rice and its soooo good.

dark meat is about 93% fat free.. and the white meat is about 97% fat free.
the only time itll be a higher percentage of fat is if they grind the skin in with the meat, which most places dont.

The package is upstairs so I don't remember the name, but it was the leanest of the 4 brands at Vons. It's like 120 calories, 1.5 g. fat, 0 carbs, and 23 g. protein per 4 oz serving.

    I use ground turkey constantly.

    1) Make pasta with red sauce and just load up tons of ground turkey in there. For a serving I typically use 2-3 ounces barilla protein plus pasta, 3/4 cup red sauce, 8 ounces ground turkey. Awesome postworkout meal.

    2) Throw the package into a large bowl and season the meet. I use garlic powder, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, oregano. Mix it together and make 1/4lb burger patties. Ground turkey burgers are DAMN good, and with some spicy mustard, cheese, and bbq sauce ontop they are awesome.
I usually skip the bun for low-carb purposes and eat two 1/4lb patties.

    3) Ground turkey mixed with taco seasoning. Make you own taco salad, or use whole wheat tortillas to make taco's/burrito's with it.

    4) Make chili with it, just keep the bean usage down and meat usage up. Great low carb/high protein meal.

I could go on and on. There are many options.

I personally love the burgers. Low carbs, moderate fats, and very high protein. Plus without the buns it does not sit heavy in your stomach. I eat this probably 2 or 3 times a week.
