A sound most of us on this side of the pond may never be lucky enough to hear...

I'd have to say a nice V8 anything from a 302CI (ford or chevy) to a 632+ BB :bigthumb:

im going w/ the sound of a bigblock v8. just intense. Dont get me wrong, i like imports, like the sound- or should i say wailing pitch- of some of the higher end sportscars, but a big block w/ open headers screaming down the track just sends shivers down my neck. Also, turbo v8's- silent at idle, raw at redline. ummmmm.

I would consider 5000 hp quite excellent. That combined with the precise tuning and drivetrain/chassis refinement that enables all of that HP to be applied to the ground is far greater than any Nazi Kart.

    No fluff, all business.

 Last I checked, this thread was "Greatest Sounding Engine?" not "Most HP at the Tires?"

Any German V8. Audi's 4.2 liter comes to mind.
Oooh, oooh! And a 12/24V VR6 has absoulutely the best sound out of any V6 I can think of right now.

I only made a negative comment after you fired first.

But that's not to say that I don't appreciate foreign auto's. There are many great cars out there and I acknowledge that. I am not biased in any regards as to where a car is made.

You though, seem to be limiting your scope of appreciation/enthusiasm with your obvious bias.
