I don't know about you guys, but I love a great cover when done by another professional... In this thread you will post some of your favorites, point being so we can check them out!

No arbitrary numbers like top5 or top10... just rattle off some of your favorite covers... please include who did it originally as well as who does the cover!

All along the watchtower - Hendrix - orig Dylan
Black magic woman - Santana - orig. Fleetwood mac
Movin' Out - The Supervillains - orig. Billie Joel
You Really Got Me - Van Halen - orig. The Kinks
Voodoo Child - Stevie Ray Vaughan - orig. Hendrix

Turn the Page - Metallica - orig. Bob Seger
(hell, i can think of a half dozen covers from that album that are damn good, love garage days!)

Susie Q - Creedence Clearwater Revival - Orig. Dale Hawkins
Revolution - STP - orig. Beatles
Red Red Wine - Bob Marely - orig. Niel Diamond
    Cocaine - Clapton - orig. J. J. Cale
Higher Ground - Chili Peppers - Orig. Stevie Wonder

Kick out the Jams - RATM - orig. MC5.
Knockin' on heavens door - Guns and Roses - orig. Bob Dylan
Love Song - 311 - orig. The Cure
Rivers of Babylon - Sublime - orig. The Melodians
No Quarter - Tool - orig. Zeppelin
No Woman No Cry - Sublime - orig. Bob Marley

I know i'm missing some other great ones... if I had to pick a favorite out of all these i MIGHT have to go with cocaine just because its incredible... i've been listening to Movin' out a ton recentely though, love the supervillains

wow, you really are a tool. bob marley never sang this song, in fact it wasn't even released until after he was dead.

    as for my favorite covers:
Blinded by the light- Bruce Springsteen, covered by Mannfred Mann's Earth Band

Dub side of the moon (ya know, the dub version of darkside)

No woman no cry- bob marley, covered by blues traveler

Also love it any time the Dead do chuck berry tunes such as Johnny B. Goode and Promised Land, Johnny Cash's Big River, Me and My Uncle written by John Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas, and El Paso originally by Marty Robbins
