very well spoken guy, and I'm a fan because he proves you don't have to be 19 years old at 250lbs to earn a pro card.

I've always liked Troy Alves. From what I've heard, he's a real down to earth just plain nice guy. The sport needs more people like that.

the amount of blood that rushes in to refill a particular muscle area directly following a set of any given exercise aka "the pump"

So if someone works out to focus on blood volume would that mean:

Lots of sets/reps primarily focused on just getting a lot of pump
    OR
Making sure the muscle that's getting any pump is the one you mean to be working

What I don't understand is why chris had his carbs AND fats so low? Not that 190gms of carbs would be considered "low" for most, but troy alves is a professional bber...i just don't know how his body wasn't chewing up muscle, pretty much goes against anything ive ever read.

the concept of working for blood volume has no defined parameters, but basically it is chasing that full feeling in the muscle group being targeted that day. On a chest day for instance, Troy talked about using lots of partial reps and 3/4 reps, to increse the time under tension. Sometimes going to full lockout allows for a brief rest as the skeleton takes the tension off the working muscle.

So move the weight with and workout the muscle you are trying to workout. Shouldn't that be like... common sense? :mamoru:

not really... plenty of people think in order to get huge you have to have a 500lb bench press and a 200lb curl and they don't think about the pump or muscle targeting.

Doesn't mean you don't need to move heavy weight though.
