    :wtc:

it fell 3 feet onto carpet :ugh:

i just cleaned it off everything seems to work ok

the lens decided it wanted to be made out of plastic for the ring mount and broke

anyone have an idea how much this would cost to repair/replace?

ok i went to the camera store and purchased a new lens... 18-55 nikon whatever it was $130

for them to repair the lens is $100 parts and labour

i'm now attempting to glue the pieces back together with CA+ glue and so far it seems like its working it needs more time to settle i won't use it in the camera for a while until i feel confident it won't break

Call Sigma and order the ring and replace it yourself. That repair is super easy. If Sigma won't sell you the ring, go to a different camera repair store and have them order it for you.

    update

glue dried and i was able to mount it on an F80 film camera

tried stressing it a bit to test for flex and it did not move

    price to repair

$5 in dollar store items (mini screw drivers and tweezers)
    $12 for Zap CA+ glue
