I was wondering if anyone you experience the same problem im having with my gym. I just joined about 3 months ago, and i really like the gym. It is new, big and has alot of equipment. The only downfall is, they play the worse music ever. They keep it locked on this one station that plays like jazz, light light rock and some kind of elevator shit music. They dont change it unitl 7pm for some reason, which I find odd. Most people come in after work around 530 or so, and many have complained about this. But the owner wont let anyone change it, cause he keeps it locked up. Only like one person has the key and is allowed to change it at that time, to this other station which is decent. IT is just a pain in the ass to be carry the damn md player around with me while i work out. This damn music puts me to sleep it is that bad. Anyone have this problem?

same thing at my gym. my gym has everything, 2 pools, weight room, cardio area upstairs....its real nice, but the music they play sucks most of the time. when i lift with my partner i dont bring my mp3 player and i have to listen to madonna, nsync, etc...invest in a small mp3 player.. i got a sandisk 1gb and its perfect for the gym. it came with an arm strap that doesnt get in the way when youer doing most lifts

My gym changed owners a few months back... We have XM and they used to keep it on Squizz or Fungus ("decent" stations). The new owners keep it set on "20 on 20" which is the worst fucking station imagineable. Basically the same 20 shit songs on repeat. After 2 workouts I broke down and bought myself an ipod. It doesn't get in my way at all, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. People are less inclined to bullshit when they see the headphones, I am more focused, and I feel that my workouts are more intense.

People leave me the fuck alone when they realize I don't want to talk back and I'm able to stay in my own little world throughout my workout.

DEFINITELY one of the pluses of having an mp3 player with you. you can listen to the music that pumps you up, and thus lift more heavy stuff

YES my college gym has it on 20 on 20 and it fucking SUCKS. occasionally they'll turn it to classic rock and that's better but usually it's getting hype to "my humps" or kelly clarkson.

This broad I lift with brings her stereo and listens to shitty pop music, but I don't say anything because she's bigger than me.

yeah i actually like the mini disk idea better. Instead of having to scroll though all the songs, i rather just have a md for each type or music or album and switch them out.

with an ipod or another mp3 player you can just make seperate playlists, which is pretty much the same thing as an individual cd of whatever you want.... plus the mp3 players hold a ton more music, and are smaller.

wont ever have to switch out the cds this way.... just my .02.. if youre happy with the md, more power to ya

I have a big 30gb player, but I still use it. Most of the shit I listen to when I lift is too big of a file for any flash player. It gets in the way only because I leave it in my pocket. I should propably get a clip for it.
