This has been the best article I have read in a while, and the ONLY article I have read on this topic. If you cant tell by the link, its about a young man who came out while at the top of his game. Its very motivational and just an overall well written piece.

...many a fag has realized the potential sexcapades that can transpire under the blinding blanket of steam in the locker rooms. I'm all about comradely, brotherly love, and lending a helping hand in the spirit of teamwork. :coolugh:

you all joke, but i dunno if youve been involved in such things... the amount of pressure is unbelievable... (not to say that its harder or more difficult than other aspects of life).

    Good article.

I knew a couple of gay guys that played on my HS football team. They would never admit it to the rest of the team, but they talked a little more openly during theatre and tech-theatre classes. Sad, but being gay just wasn't (still isn't?) acceptable for young HS athletes. I felt bad for em, I really did.

wow, well, it is a nationally recognized Division 1 sport - so, yea, i guess its fake.

even still, that isnt the point of the article. he could have been playing badminton for all i care. that man is a role model for lots of people including myself.

I read the original story a while ago, the ESPN article was pretty good though. This opens the doors for a lot of people *wink wink nudge nudge* ;)

Outsports is a great resource for some people here :mamoru:
