people argue that 30 grams of protein can only be consumed at a time, meaning every 3 hours or so you should take 30 grams of protein. But what is flawed here is that for any individual, one is only able to take in 180 grams of protein max. I don't believe this, but you should really distribute your total protein intake over 6 meals. so take your total protein intake (1-2 grams of protein / lb of lbm) divide that by 6 and that should be the amount of protein you get in one meal.

    ib(1-2 grams/lb of lbm)isnttherightamountofproteininadayforanindividual

ya pretty much, supposedly I have to be taking in somewhere around 460 for 2grams/lb. Now there's no way in hell I'm going to reach that with 30 grams per meal.

just space out the protein as much as you can, just keep eating

if you are 230lbs at a higher bodyfat %, you'd be better off calculating your protein requirements on LBM than total weight.

    9 am-Meal 1: chicken breast
11:30 am- Meal 2: chicken breast w/ salad and mixed nuts
    2:30 pm-Meal 3: cottage cheese w/ protein powder
5 pm- meal 4: chicken breast w/ salad and mixed nuts

I always hear anything from 30-50g, honestly I think everyone is different, bud I'd like to know, usually I get 40-60g per meal..lol. I mean I eat a few pieces of chicken or fish and that is loaded with protein..

99.9% of advice you will find on BB.com is bunk. That "only 40g can be absorbed per meal" is in that category.

It all depends. Obviously if you cant fit in 6 meals @ 30-40g's each then you have to make up for it elsewhere. On average I try and consume about 25-30g's a day about twice a day with meals.... But for a post workout I take a 2-scoop shake (50g's) and for postworkout meal I try and get more in, usually around 60g's or so from 2 chicken breasts (prepared in any which way).

I need to up my protein intake though. I am weighing in at 215lbs and if I got down really lean to about 9% I would probably weigh in at 185lbs or so... So technically I should be looking at 175-200g's but unfortunately because of money constraints I am only taking about 90g's on off-days and 130g's on workout days. However, I am going with cheaper protein so I can increase consumption and bump myself upto 3 - 4 scoops a day and hopefully nearly 200g's.
