I'm getting real bad quality while watching or ripping DVD's, sometimes grainy picture or small lines. I have the latest Catalyst drivers (5.1) and I'm using Power DVD 6 to watch DVD's but even watching them using DVD Shrink the picture is crap. Any ideas?

Did it do it before you put the new drivers on?

No I never noticed it, there was a whole other issue that was happening so I just reformatted last week and started from the scratch. I've tried both ffdshow and K Lite Codec Pack with no results. I went from Catalyst 4.12 drivers to 5.1 as well.

Any other ideas, I decided to go back to Catalyst 4.12 drivers to see if that helped, but no luck there. I'm out of ideas no matter which of the two DVD drives I use the video quality is so poor that I can't watch it even from a distance. When I watch DVD's that I ripped on to my computer a few weeks ago the quality is fine though.

I assume you've tried different DVDs? Sounds like a software issue, drivers/player/codec.

Yeah I've tried multiple DVD's, I've uninstalled and installed both PowerDVD and WinDVD, updated 9800 Pro drivers everything I could think of. I even went back and installed an older version of DVD Shrink with no success. Like I said it's only doing this now, the four other DVD's I have ripped on my computer from about a month ago look perfect.
