    I made custom .adm's for a few settings that are not defined in the standard GPO settings but the settings are not changing on the client machines. Maybe my .adm's are wrong, here they are below.

    DC servers are 2003 and 2008 and clients are XP Pro sp3 all the way up to Win 7 RTM

    Code:
    CLASS USER
    CATEGORY "System"
    CATEGORY "Folders Options"
    POLICY "Hide\Show Hidden Files"
    EXPLAIN "This setting will allow for you to set the show and hide files and folders by default. Keep in mind that this information will be stored in cleartext in the systems registry.

    1 = Show Hidden Files
    0 = Hide Hidden Files"
    KEYNAME "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Window
    s\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced"

    PART "SetThis" NUMERIC REQUIRED TXTCONVERT
    VALUENAME "Hidden"
    MIN 0 MAX 1 DEFAULT "0"
    END PART

    END POLICY
    END CATEGORY
    END CATEGORY
    Code:
    CLASS USER
    CATEGORY "System"
    CATEGORY "Folders Options"
    POLICY "Thumbnail Cache"
    EXPLAIN "This setting will allow for you to set the option for thumbnail caching behavior by default. Keep in mind that this information will be stored in cleartext in the systems registry.

    1 = Do Not Cache Thumbnails
    0 = Do Cache Thumbnails"
    KEYNAME "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Window
    s\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced"

    PART "SetThis" NUMERIC REQUIRED TXTCONVERT
    VALUENAME "DisableThumbnailCache"
    MIN 0 MAX 1 DEFAULT "0"
    END PART

    END POLICY
    END CATEGORY
    END CATEGORY
    Code:
    CLASS USER
    CATEGORY "System"
    CATEGORY "Folders Options"
    POLICY "Filetype Extensions"
    EXPLAIN "This setting will allow for you to set the option for showing filetype extensions by default. Keep in mind that this information will be stored in cleartext in the systems registry.

    1 = Do Not Show Filetype Extensions
    0 = Do Show Filetype Extensions"
    KEYNAME "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Window
    s\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced"

    PART "SetThis" NUMERIC REQUIRED TXTCONVERT
    VALUENAME "HideFileExt"
    MIN 0 MAX 1 DEFAULT "0"
    END PART

    END POLICY
