:dunno: ain't like complaining on a fitness forum about this is gonna change anything. I read peoples posts for tips and inspiration to train, not to hear people bitch about politics

while I feel it my part to speak out against this, I really don't give a fuck. I don't think they should be able to do this shit but I could care less about the supplements, I'm worried about whats next and all the while you can buy tobacco and alcohol (pew thank god).

The good in it is that maybe some of you fucks will quit wasting your money on shit. As long as they don't ban red meat and eggs you're good to fucking go.

I'm not too worried. If I can't get protein powder I'll just start drinking a little milk and eating more meat. :hsugh:

I can see how it might effect a bunch of people though.

I sent an e-mail to 3 of my reps.. will it make a difference? Not a fucking chance. The FDA wants to call everything a drug so it can control everything. Big Pharm companies want to be able to sell this crap. Most of our supps will be around forever they just might require a little sweet talking to your doc, who gets a nice kickback from the pharm company to get you to use the name brand vs. generic, into letting you get a script for it. Its all bullshit in the end.

Yeah thats what people said about ephedra

If you let them they will take everything away, or at least make it so the pharma companies that are making huge contributions to thier camaigns get to make this stuff a perscription drug & charge 10x more for it.

Trust me I work for a pharma company & they want this market!

how is ephedra in any way considered a DIETARY supplement? It's not. I'm not talking about weight loss or even asthma releif. I'm talking about food supplements IE: protein powders, fish oil, flax oil, etc.

Now I'm sorry to hear this for all the people that beleive most of that shit on the market. I take one supplement, and that's creatine. With all the scientific backing on it, I don't think it will ever be banned anyways

scientific backing doesnt mean shit, if they want to make it illegal without prescription so they can make money from it then they will. they do whatever they want regardless of what you think they should be doing.

the point is that they start with stuff like this and move onto dietary supplements. why not start now instead of procrastinating our defense for rights?

cuz we won't make a difference. If they want to do it, well they're gonna do it.

TC loves to go sliding down the slippery slope.

Protein is never going to be banned, neither will creatine.

I can go to the supplement store down the street and pick up plenty of amino's. Unless it certain amino's or above a certain qty.

I don't need a prescription to get amino acids.

Didn't a judge reverse the ruling making ephedra illegal?

The Canadian Health Protection Branch prohibited the sale of individual amino acids in Canada....if places are selling them, they're not supposed to.....
