my gym equipment bench, not my bench press.

    :mamoru:

it got waterlogged over winter and last year. i took the staples out of the back, took off the vinyl. the padding looks fine, just the plywood base is fucked.

first thing i'll do is replace the plywood with pressuretreated (and treat it again before i bolt it on) i think i might also replace the padding and vinyl with rubber.

    thoughts? suggestions?

it's an outdoor setup. i can keep it covered, it's covered now with a trashbag but that looks more ghetto than having it sit out there bare.

also gotta sand and primer/rustoleum the squat stands.

i didnt build it, it's metal squat stands and an incline/decline/flat dumbell bench from another set.

the vinyl had a hole in it, let water in, and the water ruined the plywood backing. i'm going to remove the padding, old plywood, and the vinyl. replace the plywood with treated waterproof shizzle, replace the padding+vinyl with 1" of rubber.

inneresting but the pad is fine and the vinyl is ok i would just rather not worry about getting wet when i lay on the bench and water squeezes out.

plus, though the board will be waterproofed as much as possible, i dont want the pad to hold water in there. cant be good for the board.

trying to make it as outdoor-friendly as possible. and for my wife, i'm probably going to primer/rustoleum the squat stands and put some kinda flowery pattern on them so they're not "ugly"

    :mamoru:

maybe i should just camo paint them so she wont see 'em :noes:

Actually, having vines growing up the stands on a squat rack and squatting barefoot in dirt would be pretty animal. Glue some animal skulls to the cage and leave a noose hanging from the top bar while it's not in use :mamoru:

Need a firepit 5ft in front of the cage with a moose cooking over it for PWO. I think you're onto something gargantuan...

    hmmmm

i could cover the outer edge of the squat stands with bamboo. make it look like my rack is made from bamboo.

when they're not in use for lifting, i'll take the rack portion out and drop a tiki torch down in there. put tiki's on the bottom to cover the base.
