They screwed me really good. The Chief set me up by asking if I had seen my assignment notification. He apologized without revealing where my orders were too. My supervisor broke the news to me that I would be going to Thule AFB Greenland (above arctic circle) for 15 months, without my wife and children, before going to the assignment I had volunteered for. I would go, it would suck, but I wouldn't complain, better than 15 months in the desert. So when I went to go see the CC, my supervisor came with me. He sat down with me and asked what I thought of Greenland. I told him, I guess I'll get used to the cold. He then said, if I sweet talk my supervisor, maybe she could pull a few strings. He slid another sheet of paper accross the desk and it was my real orders. They both started laughing because they knew they had me. Everyone was in on it. All of my coworkers, my entire chain, even the Group CMSgt. Cliffs: I was tricked into thinking I had orders to Thule AFB Greenland, by my entire chain of command. Instead I received the orders I was expecting.
